Religious School

The Temple Beth Am Religious School is committed to an engaging, rich, community-specific Jewish education. We are blessed to have such a talented staff that uses imaginative and innovative methods to educate and inspire our students.

Our religious school program is designed for students in grades K-12. Our curriculum focuses on Jewish holidays, Hebrew, Jewish rituals, Torah, Mitzvot, Israel, and Jewish values. The school employs a spiral curriculum, structured with essential topics. To support Jewish engagement and learning, our spiral curriculum exposes students to the same Jewish topics each year, in each classroom, in different, age-appropriate ways. Essential topics include Shabbat, Tikkun Olam/social justice, and Israel. Each classroom features a specific theme. While Jewish topics are the focus of our teaching, classroom-specific themes provide a unique lens to Judaism. Our Hebrew education is primarily focused on prayer-book Hebrew, with the ultimate goal of Bar/Bat Mitzvah proficiency. Modern, conversational Hebrew enriches our Hebrew classrooms, connecting our students with Israel and Hebrew as a living language. With our focused curriculum, our school is designed to support your family’s Judaism. We are looking forward to welcoming you and your family to Temple Beth Am!

Lower school classes meet Sunday mornings and Wednesday afternoons. Our upper school meets on Monday evenings.

Family Engagement:

Family engagement plays an important role at Temple Beth Am. We believe in parents being partners in their child’s Jewish education. Each grade participates in family education during the academic year. The programs center around topics students are learning in class as well as topics that are relevant to families.

We love connecting our parents throughout the year with our parent engagement event projects! We have five dates selected so we can all come together to build relationships and connections while supporting Temple Beth Am and our students.
All dates this year will be on Sundays: November 22, December 6, January 10, April 11, and May 2.

Our Sunday, November 22, event will be Bagels and Schmooze with Rav Blumberg on Zoom. Time will be announced. Please stay tuned for timing and details for the other dates, too!
